Have you guys noticed something funny going on in colour trends lately? Twice in a row now, one colour seems to have been taking both the fashion world and the normal world by storm. First came burgundy. Last December I remember seeing a lot more burgundy in outfits on fashion blogs. Before I knew it everywhere I looked, in town, on campus, everyone seemed to be wearing burgundy! Especially burgundy jeans caught on like fire! Now, as if out of nowhere, on so many blogs I have seen posts dedicated to mint. This is the new colour that seems to be catching on. I wonder how long it will take for me to see students on campus walking around in mint coloured jeans. What do you think the next it-colour will be?

Dannijo arm parties
Dannijo has collaborated with the Man Repeller for a jewellery line before, and now they have used her fashion creativity in a new way: being inspired by what she has coined 'arm parties', they have created a page of arm party inspiration featuring their amazing designs. Penelope Chilvers Bespoke Loafers
When I saw this picture at Fashion Foie Gras I fell in love. I have been looking for the perfect pair of slippers for a while now, and it's been a tough journey: on the one hand, I love all the coloured/glitter/studded stand out versions, but on the other hand, I want them to be able to be my go-to flat, and so be a basic that can go with any outfit. These ones seem to be the perfect solution! They are a neutral colour, but with a neon lining! Perfect! They can even be made with your initials sewn on. It's a bespoke service where you can create your own online. I played around for a bit and mine came out looking something like this. Unfortunately they are not within my student budget, so I may have to wait and see if my lovely parents will get me them for my birthday! Check the site out yourself here.
Accessorize bucket bag
I spotted this bag at Accessorize and it reminded me of Chloe straight away! It could have been featured on the a/w 2011 runway, it fits the collection so well! The bucket model, snakeskin print and combination of different fabrics and colours were all seen in the Chloe a/w bags. Although luckily, this one doesn't feature a snake head on the flap!

Doloris Petunia neon pink earrings (DIY inspiration)
For a while now, I have been searching for the perfect small, subtle earrings. Due to my love of statement necklaces I hardly every wear earrings any more, but now and then I would like to have something small in my ear that doesn't grab everyone's attention, but gives the outfit a little something extra. My sister has these amazing delicate gold star studs that go with everything and I have been trying to find something similar. I can't believe I overlooked the most obvious answer: a small dose of neon! When I saw these earrings by Doloris Petunia I knew what my goal is going to be: small, sophisticated gems that I can paint neon!

Couture style inspiration
Aaah a week of couture! I will not review all the collections, there are plenty of blogs that do that much better than me. But I wanted to write about a few looks that caught my eye, and the styles that I hope to see translated into non-couture wear.
1. The new ombre: I loved a few new takes on ombre, such as at Armani (bottom right), where a space-y metallic ombre was presented. I also loved the beautiful shades of grey at Dior (top two images), both the layered ombre that builds up in each layer, and the sheer black to white ombre were subtle but modern takes on this trend.
2. Matching your loafers with your couture dress: or any dress for that matter! I couldn't believe I was seeing loafers at a couture presentation, but there they were at Valentino (bottom right). Looks in different colours had different coloured loafers, and the effect was really cute!
3. Hot pink with a gold statement necklace. I've always loved the combination of pink and gold, but seeing it in this Giambattista Valli look made me want to find a way to wear it now! The hot pink with the massive gold statement was an amazing look.

Kelly Wearstler vs Asos cuff
Remember this beautiful cuff I posted about a while ago? Well Asos has come to the rescue with a much more affordable option, although also less fabulous (isn't it always the case?). It is still an awesome statement cuff that will add some glamour to a look! Available here.

Kurt Geiger ring
This ring is currently on sale at Kurt Geiger. The architectural design is so cool! I love the gold with the oversized clear stone. Fabulous!
Taylor Tomasi Hill for Lane Crawford
Taylor Tomasi Hill is still my absolute style icon. The way she experiments with clothes and accessories is really inspiring and it's no wonder that everyone in fashion seems to adore her. She has recently designed a collection for Lane Crawford that is infused with her quirky but feminine style. Here are a few of my favourite picks. Buy them here.

Style inspiration at the Golden Globes
I don't think anyone could have missed the Golden Globes recently, lots of blogs had a great round-up of all the looks. I thought it was a very well-dressed event, but there were two looks that really inspired me. They weren't necessarily my best dressed of the evening, but there was something about their looks that I wanted to bookmark for my own style. The first was Jamie King in Valentino Couture. She looked ethereal in her satin gown, it was a perfect choice for her. But what I'm obsessing over is the combination of satin and that lovely pastel mint colour! It is so beautiful!! I NEED something satin in this stunning colour! (Image via The Fashion Patrol). The second look that caught my eye was Kelly MacDonald in Lorena Sarbu. This was so much more than a sequin gown. I absolutely love the effect of the green and blue sequins together, it gave the dress such a modern, maybe even space-y, feel! I am not officially on the hunt for a dress with green and blue sequins to get a similar effect! (Photo via Instyle).
