5 things to do in the UK before Christmas

There is no place like England when it comes to Christmas celebrations! The preparations start practically months in advance and build up towards the end of December, leaving you crazy with anticipation! I always go home, to Holland, for the holidays, but there are a few things I need to tick off my list before I go. So, without further ado, I present to you my list of things to do before Christmas in the UK!
1. Go ice-skating somewhere magical. England seems to build ice rinks in the most romantic places, with stunning backdrops! My favourite is the ice rink outside the National History Museum (above), but the Tiffany's rink outside Somerset house is also great.
2. Buy something glittery. I have never seen a country so obsessed with sequins! Every Christmas you are almost blinded when you walk into any shop. 3. Buy some make-up gift-sets (no other countries does such good ones) or go crazy and buy loads of holiday make-up at Boots, and get a free gift-set! (Left: Nails Inc giftset, right L'Oreal Christmas make-up)
4. Get yourself some Pizza Express Snowball Dough Balls! Pizza Express has a special Christmas version of their amazing dough balls, with a cinnamon and vanilla dip!
5. Wander around any city and take in the Christmas windows, Christmas lights, Christmas markets, the absolute insanity of Christmas shopping (I could hardly move in Debenhams today) and score some Christmas deals!

Happy holidays!

  11. Really great to see a post about Christmas in the UK from a non-UK perspective! You make a good point about make-up, I didn't realise how lucky we were with cheap make-up until I lived in France last year and found it so expensive over there! We do obsess over sequins here, but you've got to love a bit of sparkle at Christmas! Enjoy your Christmas at home in Holland :)

  16. What a gorgeous christmas post. It has to be my favouriteeee holiday of them all but its always sooo hot here in Australia. As much as I love my beach days come Christmas and Boxing day I do yearn for a white christmas one year - looks like my white christmas destination will have to be the UK - id love (!!!) to ice skate at any one of those gorgeous places you described.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment!
I love checking out your blogs as well, so if you leave a comment I will come visit your blog sometime soon :)
However, I firmly believe that you should follow a blog because you feel inspired, not as part of a follow-for-follow deal. I will NEVER respond to "want to follow each other" requests.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
