The devil is in the details. The red lips, flash of lace and clutch make this look really chic. Via Parisx3.

Two tone lips

This cool look is perfect for this Spring! Two-tone lips were all over the runways, and this version is the most wearable one I've found so far. Fashionologie describes how to get the look using a pink and an orange lipstick.

Artdeco nail polish

I love this nail colour by Artdeco! The metallic sheen is just what I've been obsessing over lately, and the purple is a great colour for winter or spring. It is available at Douglas.

Collistar Carisma Collection

I have to admit, I have a slight weakness for pretty looking make-up. Over the years I have accumulated lots of cute make-up palettes that I never use. But when I saw this new one by Collistar, I new I had to have it! It is so pretty! I'd love to use is as a clutch, that's how much I love it! They're filled with pretty eye shadow colours, powder and lip gloss colours.  Gorgeous! Images via Ginger Generation.

Alessandro Gold French Liner

Ever wondered how you could possibly get gold nail tips as neat as the ones that have been on every fashionable person's nails this season?! I kept trying, but couldn't get them to look as professional as for example YSL's Fall 2010 nail images (above, via My Beauty Babbles). Then I found this gold french liner by Alessandro and my problems were solved! I've only found it online in one German shop, m-beauty, but if you go to your nearest Douglas store, I'm sure they'll have it there, because that's were I found it.

Metallic nails

How was your Christmas everyone!? If you ate too much and do not fit in your fabulous clothes any more, here is another way to still look stylish! This is from Love Aesthetics, showing her kittens. And as much as I adore the kitten, those nails really caught my eye! Does anyone know how I can get similar, colourful shiny metallic nails?!

China Chow in Stella McCartney

I absolutely adore this look! It's from Stella McCartney's Resort 2012 collection and I love everything about it - the print, and the silhouette, and the white nails!! Let's hope some high street retailer will come up with a cheaper version! I feel like H&M could do this style well, what do you think? Image via coolspotters.

5 things to do in the UK before Christmas

There is no place like England when it comes to Christmas celebrations! The preparations start practically months in advance and build up towards the end of December, leaving you crazy with anticipation! I always go home, to Holland, for the holidays, but there are a few things I need to tick off my list before I go. So, without further ado, I present to you my list of things to do before Christmas in the UK!
1. Go ice-skating somewhere magical. England seems to build ice rinks in the most romantic places, with stunning backdrops! My favourite is the ice rink outside the National History Museum (above), but the Tiffany's rink outside Somerset house is also great.
2. Buy something glittery. I have never seen a country so obsessed with sequins! Every Christmas you are almost blinded when you walk into any shop. From left to right: French Connection Starstruck Asymmetric Dress, French Connection Sequin Playsuit, French Connection Sassy Sparkle Dress, Karen Millen Beaded Dress, All Saints Paloma Dress, All Saints One Shoulder Dress.
3. Buy some make-up gift-sets (no other countries does such good ones) or go crazy and buy loads of holiday make-up at Boots, and get a free gift-set! (Left: Nails Inc giftset, right L'Oreal Christmas make-up)
4. Get yourself some Pizza Express Snowball Dough Balls! Pizza Express has a special Christmas version of their amazing dough balls, with a cinnamon and vanilla dip!
5. Wander around any city and take in the Christmas windows, Christmas lights, Christmas markets, the absolute insanity of Christmas shopping (I could hardly move in Debenhams today) and score some Christmas deals!

Happy holidays!

Jen Kao nails

I love these nails from the Jen Kao Spring 2012 collection! They flow from black to bright blue.. Ombre at it's best! Although these were nail extenstions by CND, the backstage make-up artist recommended a DIY version by applying one colour to the bottom of the nail and another colour to the top, so that they overlap slightly, and then, whilst they're still wet, applying a generous layer of clear top coat on top, to make the nail polishes run into eachother. If anyone tries it, let me know if it works!

Colour block nails

A while ago I posted a tip on how to delay having to redo your nails all over again when your nail polish starts chipping: add another colour on top for a colour block effect! Since then, I have been going colour block crazy over this handy top and I wanted to show you the results! I have been getting so many compliments! The first combination (above) resulted from when my Chanel Peridot started chipping, so I put Barry M Indigo on top. After that I combined Chanel Graphite with Bloom Molly, and most recently Mavala The Elle Orange with a Nails Inc colour similar to Savile Row. What do you think?

Another awesome idea for your nails: Love Maegan came up with this great design: dark purple nails with half the nail covered in chunky gold glitters, coated with lots of shiny top base. What a fab result!

A new twist on the fishtail braid

I think the fishtail braid has now been around long enough for everyone to finally master how to do one (and that took long enough!). Now Bella Sugar has come up with a fun twist: incorporating some coloured clip on extensions into your fishtail braid, for some on-trend colours in your hair. Read the tutorial at Bella Sugar.

Ombre Nails

Fashionologie has a short tutorial on how to get cool inky ombre nails like this. As it turns out, it is really simple! All you need is two different coloured nail polishes and a clear topcoat. It explains how to get the inky, dripping effect here.

White Nails

White nail polish automatically makes me think of Chanel. We've been seeing it on the Chanel runway for ages, but in the past summer I kept seeing white nails more and more on blogs. I have to admit, in the beginning, I wasn't convinced that white nail polish could look as stylish as the bright colours I had been sporting for a while. But when I saw the picture above on Love Aesthetics, I changed my mind straight away! It shows how gorgeous white nails can look. Now I can't wait to try the trend!
