It all started with the peplum miniskirts worn over dresses at the iconic Miu Miu fall 2012 collection. Now, for spring 2012 and fall 2012, Derek Lam (for his 10 Crosby collection) and Alexander Wang have both featured skirts over dresses. A lot of people expressed their dislike when Karoline Kurkova tried out the look recently, however , Diane Kruger managed to rock it.. Now I want to know what you think! Personally, I quite like this look, when done right. I think that a complementary skirt over a printed dress, showing just a peak of the dress at the bottom looks very chic. I wonder whether this will be a true fashion revolution, and everyone in 10 years will find this look completely normal, and wonder what all the fuss was about back in 2012.. What do you think?

Yes! I saw this on Blake lively already last year, where she wore a skirt on top of on oversized jeansshirt (long enough to be a dress, and it came out on the bottom). It was described as a fashion-faux-pas by numerous websites, but I actually liked it a lot!
ReplyDeleteAll of this to see I like this trend ;-)

ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of this lately and I have mixed feelings. I've been doing it for a while especially if I want to wear a mini skirt and make it a little longer but I don't do it so obviously. Iguess it's a trend I couldget used to!

To be honest I'm not so sure about this "trend"... it might look good but with completely matching items... for example I love the first look, the second one I don't like at all...

i actually saw this on the march 2011 seventeen magazine. i love the idea of layering a skirt over a dress. it's cute and fashionable. it's also a good way to change up an outfit.
