I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the only print to bother with this season is tartan. Seen on each and every single fashion week attendee last month, it is bound to make its way to high street retailers in no time. But as Pandora Sykes (below) pointed out: the best, and cheapest, ones can be found second-hand. And when Pandora Sykes tells you where she finds her fashion staples, you follow that advice! The girl knows how to find the best items of any trend. So I did a little looking around online and found some absolute gems! Having already found my perfect plaid piece, I decided to share my other finds with you. Happy shopping!

I have no idea how this girl manages to pull off a dress of that length, and heels that high whilst still looking all cool and effortless! This really is nonchalant chic at its best. From Vanessa Jackman.

That oversized pink coat
With fashion week having moved on to Europe, and thus to colder weather, the fashion show attendees are giving us some amazing inspirational looks for Autumn! There are two trends that have already become so big that they seem to already have achieved the status of being the defining looks for a/w 2013: tartan and the oversized pale pink coat. Such a girly item can be tricky to wear, so I was delighted to discover this editorial from Marie Claire UK, which shows exactly how to pull it off, as well as highlight some more subtle hues which create a similar statement. Exotic Cuisine: Ipekyol
I would like to start by apologizing for the lack of posts - I have been enjoying the stress-free bliss of my last long summer vacation before starting a full-time job and having time- and responsibility restrictions on my holidays! I am currently in Turkey enjoying the food, sun, beautiful surroundings and wonderful people. This is definitely one of my favourite countries! In fact, I am so infatuated that I have extended my stay by another 2 months and will be living in Istanbul until December, so expect a lot more Turkish-influenced posts! A few days ago I was finally able to tear myself away from the beach to do some shopping and I was very impressed by the range of Turkish clothing brands. My favourite so far is Ipekyol. For a relatively small brand with no international reach, I have to say this is one seriously modern, up-to-date and fashionable store! The way it translates some very difficult to pull off trends into a fantastic range of easy, wearable looks is very impressive. And it is not just one look that they have been able to nail. Just take a look at my picks from their Autumn 2013 lookbook to see how they have got a whole collection of styles covered for the winter months. From sports luxe to ladylike chic and from sophisticated tailoring to fun prints, they really seem to have put in a tremendous amount of effort to make sure that the Ipekyol shopper goes through winter in style! Plus (and very importantly) - their sale is great! What more could you want?! Definitely keep this brand on your to-do list when you visit Turkey, and in the meantime you can find out more on their website.

Monochrome Cool
Of course, you will all have noticed that this season, black and white is the way to look cool no matter what the temperature. Sounds simple, right? But this season's look is far from simple. Keep it too simple and you end up with a very plain outfit. Go too over the top and you end up looking like an extra from the Great Gatsby (not that that is a bad look at all!). In other words, to rock the look according to this season's style is tricky, but this editorial is a great inspiration for how to do it right and end up looking stylish and modern. The way to to black and white this summer is with clean lines and airy, textured layers. And then maybe rock a Great Gatsby look for a few special occasions! Images from Oracle Fox.

What a way to look elegant without playing it safe! It can be difficult to get the mix right when you're trying to add funky accessories to a classic look, but everything here goes together perfectly. From Lee Oliveira.
