Oasis skirt in the style of No. 21 (DIY inspiration)

My eye was instantly drawn to this skirt when I was browsing the Oasis site. The bright pattern is really offset beautifully by the black lace panels. They both enhance the pattern and the model's figure. Love it! A few days later, I saw this feature from Grazia on Olivia Palermo, in which she wears a very similar skirt. This skirt is from No. 21 and is very similar. The Oasis version, of course is much cheaper, but i was also thinking of an even cheaper way to get the look: get a cheap printed skirt on sale and sew black lace panels onto it. What do you think, doable?
