I never thought I would be posting a style inspiration post drawing on a post from Buzzfeed! I have never been a big fan of the late 60's / 70's style, and I am the last person you will see jumping on the Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent brandwagon, but when I saw these pictures I was fascinated by how wearable the outfits still are! I mean, here we have crop tops, denim on denim and white shoes galore! More than anything though, I love how coordinated these outfits are. Despite my love of effortless dressing, I love that every detail of these looks appears to have been planned to a T. And with that laziness that I, and I'm sure many other people, are prone to in dressing nowadays (I can't be bothered to pick jewellery today/I'll just pair this with a simple top/No-one will notice if the comfy shoes don't go with the rest), I can't help but admire how these girls put such effort into creating the perfect outfit. Plus, how amazing would it be to walk around with belly art?! From BuzzFeed.

This look has it all: it has elements of both the print mixing and print matching trends, has a midi skirt and a crop top. I am smitten! From Stockholm Streetstyle.

Modern Mod
How amazing would it be to walk around and take the subway wearing a silk ballgown skirt and a crop top?! Although the outfits aren't necessarily feasible if you aren't a model in a fashion editorial, I still found lots of inspiration in these pictures. The whole editorial is a great guide on how to bring that preppy funky mod vibe to a 2013 wardrobe! From Pepper + Chips.

This is a very well documented look from Paris fashion week last March, however most shots I have seen of it have always focused on the back (the top has a cute little palm tree on the back), whereas what really fascinates me about the whole look is the silhouette, the sharp tailoring, and the great little details (like the ankle cuffs) that still give it a playful feel. Steven by Steve Madden
Most people probably know shoe brand Steve Madden. I have always seen it as a pretty generic affordable shoe brand, where you can generally find some nice things, but where I rarely find anything to get overly excited about. That all changed when I was walking around the Village the other day and decided to go check out one of the "Steven" by Steve Madden shops. I had seen them before, but had never bothered actually going inside one. I'm glad I gave it a chance this time! If there is one place you must go to get some high heels this season, it is Steven by Steve Madden! They have got the look of the season down to a T. From Alexander Wang-esque sandals to the mandatory pointed stiletto's, you name a Summer 2013 shoe trend, they've got it! The prices are really reasonable, too. The only bad thing I could find was that they don't have a good website, but I have still managed to hunt down a few good pairs for you!

Another one of those effortlessly amazing looks I keep finding myself drawn to this summer! All the pieces of this outfit are so different, but they still make a pulled-together look because of the lovely colour palette they create, with lots of different shades of blue. From Vanessa Jackman.
