I feel like the fashion world has been obsessed with neon jewellery for ages. The statement jewellery trend of the past few years has always been intertwined with the neon trend, and we have all been drooling over brightly coloured statement pieces for the past few seasons. As regular readers will know, I instantly fall in love with anything neon, so the neon statement jewellery look was definitely one of my go-to favourites in times of outfit crises. However, with the new hottest colour combo being black and white, I think times may be changing. Despite my obsession with neon jewellery, I found myself drawn to this beautiful ring in the photo above from The PvdH Journal. All of a sudden, all my bright neons felt too garish compared to a piece that made such a subtle but strong style statement. Then, when I saw the necklace below at Covet Chic: an exact replica in terms of design of all the neon necklaces I've been wearing, but with black stones instead of the usual bright yellow ones, it made me think: is neon jewellery on its way out and is black statement jewellery the next big trend? Even Tom Binns, who pretty much started the neon statement jewellery trend, has a line of dark colours. Take a look at my picks below and let me know what you think!
From top to bottom, after the first Covet Chic necklace: Max and Chloe earrings, Mawi brooch, Dannijo necklace, Iosselliani earrings, Covet Chic bracelet, Max and Chloe necklace, Joomi Lim necklace, Iosselliani necklace, Tom Binns necklace.

DIY inspiration: Topshop neon earrings
I know what you all must be thinking: will she ever get enough of neon jewellery!? Well, the simple answer is: probably not! These earrings from Topshop have got me itching to actually carry out a DIY and make something neon. If you get some brightly coloured string and some rhinestone earrings, this look would be so easy to make! You could make them in any colour you want and it would be so quick.. On the hunt for earrings!

Miso neon earrings (DIY inspiration)
I spotted these neon earrings by Miso at Republic the other day. Unfortunately, they don't seem to fare well on camera, as none of these images correctly portray how bright they really are. Both designs come in neon pink and neon yellow, and are very affordable. Alternatively, if you have some old earrings lying around the house, why not paint the rhinestones neon with nail polish, or dip the chains in neon paint?
The chandelier earrings are available here and the chain ones are available here.

Frieda & Nellie jewellery + a reminder
First of all - I want to apologize for this post being a bit out of control in terms of the looong picture below, but I couldn't help myself, I just love everything this label makes! The brand is called Frieda & Nellie and all of its pieces are handmade. Almost all pieces include colourful braiding mixed with vintage rhinestones for a bright result. I especially love all the bracelets, although I think my favourite item might be the neon earrings! Shop the collection here.

Mango multi-coloured earrings
I feel like I'm always bombarding you guys with jewellery, but I just keep finding such amazing ones! Lately I've been on the lookout for some statement earrings, which is something that these beauties definitely are. The silhouette is just like your normal chandelier earrings, but the mix of different, bright colours makes them really modern. The more I look at them, the more I love them! They are available from Mango here.

Mango tassel earrings
This winter, the S&M look dominated the runways. Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen and many others encouraged us to fly the fetish flag. It always amused me to think of the people who got to know Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen through the Royal Wedding, decided to look up her designs and were confronted with a collection full of S&M style harnesses! If you are looking for subtle ways to incorporate this trend into your outfit, these tassel-inspired earrings from Mango would look great with a high bun or ponytail!

Doloris Petunia neon pink earrings (DIY inspiration)
For a while now, I have been searching for the perfect small, subtle earrings. Due to my love of statement necklaces I hardly every wear earrings any more, but now and then I would like to have something small in my ear that doesn't grab everyone's attention, but gives the outfit a little something extra. My sister has these amazing delicate gold star studs that go with everything and I have been trying to find something similar. I can't believe I overlooked the most obvious answer: a small dose of neon! When I saw these earrings by Doloris Petunia I knew what my goal is going to be: small, sophisticated gems that I can paint neon!

Amanda Coleman flower collection
This pretty, delicate necklace is by a designer called Amanda Coleman. It is part of the Flower collection, some of which feature gold coated or silver cow parseley figures clustered into circles, with a a white pearl in the middle. I love the effect, it makes me think of snowflakes! Another piece I love is the earrings from the same collection. Shop the collection here.
