Steven by Steve Madden

Most people probably know shoe brand Steve Madden. I have always seen it as a pretty generic affordable shoe brand, where you can generally find some nice things, but where I rarely find anything to get overly excited about. That all changed when I was walking around the Village the other day and decided to go check out one of the "Steven" by Steve Madden shops. I had seen them before, but had never bothered actually going inside one. I'm glad I gave it a chance this time! If there is one place you must go to get some high heels this season, it is Steven by Steve Madden! They have got the look of the season down to a T. From Alexander Wang-esque sandals to the mandatory pointed stiletto's, you name a Summer 2013 shoe trend, they've got it! The prices are really reasonable, too. The only bad thing I could find was that they don't have a good website, but I have still managed to hunt down a few good pairs for you!

Topshop hologram cap toe heels

One of the many trends I can't get enough of right now is cap toe heels. I didn't manage to get my hands on that perfect pair from Zara - the beige and black ones that seem to appear on every fashion blog, but now I think I might have found a suitable alternative. These white courts from Topshop feature an amazing hologram cap toe which gives them a really modern feel. Find them here.

Kurt Geiger bow courts

The spring runways were full of ladylike courts adorned with oversized bows. My favourites were the ones presented at Louis Vuitton, and since seeing those I have been on the lookout for similar styles. These pretty courts from Carvela at Kurt Geiger come pretty close and even come in a pretty pastel colour, as well as simple black and white versions. Get them here.

Dannijo shoes

Last week we saw a shoe-designer entering the jewellery market as Pierre Hardy designed a collection of cuffs. Now, we have a jewellery designer entering the shoe market! Cult jewellery brand Dannijo is releasing a collection of shoes, which includes the boots above. They very much adhere to the brand's cool design aesthetic, and of course, Dannijo did not forget to put some of the bling that their jewellery always has in their shoe designs! Via Refinery 29.

Viktor & Rolf Spring 2012 shoes (DIY inspiration)

After falling in love with Peter Pilotto's runway shoes last week, another fabulous design has made me just as excited! These embellished beauties were presented on the runway for Viktor & Rolf's Spring 2012 collection. I love everything that glitters, but I feel that the fact that the embellishments are placed on a think strap around the foot really makes these sandals very chic! Such a fun look, and totally DIY-able!

Aldo Rise at Asos

Aldo Rise is a collaboration between Aldo and new fashion designers. To support up-and-coming designers, Aldo works with them to create shoes for their collections. This spring they have been working with some really great designers. One of these is one of my favourite labels, Preen. Others include Libeterine, Faster by Mark Fast and J.W. Anderson. The collection is available through Aldo and Asos - which also holds a few exclusives. The shoes are slightly more expensive than usual Aldo shoes, but they have been design by really promising new talents. Here are the ones I'm admiring. Find out more here and shop the collection here.

Kurt Geiger neon strap sandals

I think this may be something you don't see very often: something that is both fashionable and comfortable! I love the idea of the neon strap on these, and because it's elasticated, I can image it being so comfortable to wear! They are available here. I'm trying to think if there would a way to DIY something similar.. Any suggestions?

Mango shoes

These heels from Mango are subtly stylish! I love that they incorporate the colour block trend without being too flashy. They could be worn to work, dinner, or out and would go with any outfit appropriate for all those. Unfortunately it looks like I'm not the only one that loves them, as most colour combinations are currently sold out. Let's hope they renew stock! Keep checking here.

Penelope Chilvers Bespoke Loafers

When I saw this picture at Fashion Foie Gras I fell in love. I have been looking for the perfect pair of slippers for a while now, and it's been a tough journey: on the one hand, I love all the coloured/glitter/studded stand out versions, but on the other hand, I want them to be able to be my go-to flat, and so be a basic that can go with any outfit. These ones seem to be the perfect solution! They are a neutral colour, but with a neon lining! Perfect! They can even be made with your initials sewn on. It's a bespoke service where you can create your own online. I played around for a bit and mine came out looking something like this. Unfortunately they are not within my student budget, so I may have to wait and see if my lovely parents will get me them for my birthday! Check the site out yourself here.
